This is a great playing, great looking, and most importantly great sounding Taylor 12-fret in East Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce.Simply put, this guitar is a joy to pick or strum. The short scale twelve fret neck makes for a nice, easy playability, while the cutaway opens up the higher frets for excellent access to the upper register. This 12-fret slope shoulder dreadnought shape originated in early hawian style guitars, but the smoothness and tonal warmth of this configuration have made it. Four of these guitars are 12 fret, slot head (Martin OOO Norman Blake, Martin O28VS, 812, 612, both Taylor new design. Two are 14 fret (Martin OO18V, 414ce, old Taylor design). My opinion is the best sounding acoustics have 12 frets to the body, slot heads, and a V-shaped neck. The Taylors have slight V.

We offer full refunds for unopened and unused products, in their original packaging, in good condition returned to the Washington Music Center (11151 Veirs Mill Rd., Wheaton, MD 20902) in person or via a return within 7 days of receiving your product(s). A copy of your original receipt is required with the product in ALL cases. Within 14 days, we will issue store credit under the same conditions. All other return inquiries will be assessed at a minimum 15% restock fee, subject to inspection of the unit to be returned and at the discretion of management. Cost of shipping will not be refunded for items shipped to you, or for rush delivery to the store. This includes the cost the store incurs on free shipping orders. Returns are NOT accepted on the following items due to health and/or licensing regulations: harmonicas, mouthpieces, microphones, software, books, CDs, DVDs, strings, reeds, headphones, in-ear monitors, bulbs, tubes, raw speakers, layaway deposits, special order items.

We do not offer returns/refunds or warranty support on products shipped outside of the United States. Some manufacturer warranties will be voided if an item is shipped outside of the United States.

What's the deal with refurbished?

This instrument is stamped 'used' on the back of the headstock and given a new serial number by the manufacturer-authorized refurbisher. Why? It was deemed to have a cosmetic imperfection or to need a repair. Check the description to see exactly why this instrument is considered refurbished. We scrutinize every instrument and pass along all information from the refurbisher so that you know exactly what you are getting. These are like new with little or zero play wear!

Taylor’s 12-fret guitars update a classic steel-string design with signature touches that combine a slinky handfeel with impressive tonal power for the compact Grand Concert body size. The 312ce 12-Fret’s slightly condensed 24-7/8-inch scale length makes the fretting experience more accessible, while the solid sapele and Sitka spruce pairing produces a vibrant midrange with pleasing focus and projection. V-Class bracing bolsters the projection and sustain, adding sonic headroom for lively players looking for mix-leading sound from a small, comfortable frame. Appointments include satin back and sides with a gloss top, black binding, Italian acrylic small diamond fretboard inlays, a 3-ring rosette, a Venetian cutaway, and Taylor’s stage-ready ES2 acoustic electronics. The guitar comes with a Taylor deluxe hardshell case.

This particular instrument has a tiny scuff in the body binding and a shallow dimple in the finish behind the bridge. We have included a close-up photo of each of these. Aside from what we have described, this instrument is in mint condition.

How Does It Play?

This guitar is set up very nicely at 3/32' on the low E at the 12th fret and 2/32' on the high E without any buzz. The guitar provides a very responsive and pleasing player experience. And when a little extra is needed, it sounds killer the ES2 pickup system plugged into a PA.
